Hello,

I have been working on my family genealogy for over 20 years now and have come to a standstill. I have always been told that our family came from Scotland to New England ~1700 and then to Nova Scotia as 'planters' and then back to New England between 1864 and 1889. I cannot seem to make it past my 5th G,Grandparents William Murray b. 1723 in Sandwich, Massachusetts. He married on 17 Apr 1761 in Liverpool, Nova Scotia to Joanna TUPPER. I cannot seem to find his parents. I have been told, and found on-line that his parents were John Murray of Unthank (son of John Murray of Bowhill) & Anne BENNETT but I believe that all of their children were born in Scotland (The letters of James Murray - The Loyalist) who was one of their sons. I have been at this point for almost 3 years now, I am filling in branches as I go, but I cannot seem to find a solid link back to Scotland. I would greatly appreciate any helpful suggestions you may be able to offer. Thank you.
